A team of Civic Bank employees bowled to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee's "Bowl for Kids' Sake 2010 - The Big Bowl" The event, held Tuesday evening August 10 at Hillwood Strike & Spare, raised over $10,000 for the kids. Team Civic was honored with the "Top Fundraising" and "Best Dressed" awards.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (www.bbbs.org) pairs a child with a role model, a one-to-one relationship built on trust and friendship that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential. Youth ages 6-16 are mentored weekly by individual volunteers. Kids with mentors are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, and one-third less likely to engage in a violent act.
