Printer-friendly versionCivic Bank & Trust in cooperation with Richards & Richards sponsored a free shred day on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The free shred day was available to individuals and small businesses with no limit on the number of items accepted. Approximately 80 cars, trucks and loaded trailers dropped off documents for a total of 11,756 pounds of paper that has been securely shredded and will be recycled. The drive thru lanes were utilized for convenient drop off which made it particularly helpful for people with small children or limited mobility. The staff at Richards & Richards did all the heavy lifting and made it easy for everyone dropping off documents. Everyone received complementary reusable shopping bags, information about records and information managment and special account offers from the bank.
A lemonade stand and bake sale was held in conjunction with the free shred day to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the bake sale resulted in donations totaling $360.00 which was matched by the bank for a total donation of $720.00.
Thank you to Richards & Richards, all our neighbors and local businesses that made this event a success.
